The Montcalm Hotel has designed and installed a low allergen bedroom specifically for sufferers of asthma and related allergies. All furnishings were chosen because they reduce the incidence of dust mites and pollen, and are low on irritants. The mattress is encased in dust mite proof casing. The fabrics - bed linen, blankets, bedspread and curtains - are made of fully washable materials which do not require chemical dry cleaning. Leather has been used to upholster the chairs and the floor is a wood laminate which can be damp-wiped to avoid vacuuming. The windows are sealed to prevent pollution from outside and the room is fully air-conditioned with special filters for re-circulation and fresh air supply. All the paints selected are water-based, even those used on the woodwork. Every aspect of the room has been considered right down to the private bar refrigerator which is not operated on harmful gasses. Naturally this is a non-smoking room. So, those people with allergies who have suffered restless and breathless nights in other London hotels, should try The Montcalm. Our central location, excellent levels of service and forward-thinking approach to the care of our guests make us one of the best hotels in London.

Food & Drink Facilities

Crescent Restaurant

Representing excellent value, The Crescent's lunch menu features an imaginative choice of dishes including seasonal specialties with a philosophy that taste is far more important than over complicated presentation and that ingredients should be simple and freshly cooked.

Japanese Breakfast

Japanese breakfast at The Montcalm Hotel Crescent Restaurant is certainly unusual but so delicious that it has to be experienced to be appreciated. as must the amazingly invigorating effect that this healthy, low calorie meal has on the body.

It consists of a choice of Grilled Salmon, Aji or Tara fish with Miso, Gohan (steamed rice), miso soup with spring onion and Tofu, dried seaweed and a soft, creamy 'agitated' egg accompanied by a slice of melon and Japanese tea, and is served daily between 7am and 10am (7.30am and 11.00am Saturday and Sunday) at an additional charge.

Business Facilities

The principal private room is the Marquis de Montcalm Suite, a distinctive venue for conferences, banquets, dinner dances or receptions. Stylishly decorated, air conditioned and completely self-contained, The Marquis de Montcalm Suite is equipped with a full range of modern amenities.

Location - Marble Arch top ^

On the north-east corner of Hyde Park, marking the west end of Oxford Street, stands Marble Arch. The seemingly random structure was originally built as an entrance for Buckingham Palace but was not considered grand enough. It was moved in 1851 to its current position and adds a dramatic and flamboyant air to the busy road intersection, appropriate for the entranceway to equally dramatic and flamboyant Mayfair. From Marble Arch you have easy access to the huge range of shops on Oxford Street and the fashionable residential and shopping districts of Mayfair and Marylebone.
