The location was excellent for our needs, but the room was a little too warm, with no air con. We didn't eat there as the pre-theatre dinner was too early and in the morning we ate out rather than queue. Not that it was a problem as there are lots of good restaurants etc nearby.

Other than the slight frustration of the free wi-fi only being available in the public areas and the half-hour limitation on its use this hotel proved once again to be a very good place to stay. Efficient and comfortable with loads of options for dining, not that you'd really need them given the location. Right in the West-end, less than ten minutes walk from Leicester Square and about two minutes from Covent Garden Market. Price very reasonable for the service provided. I didn't use this hotel for a while because they stopped 24hr room-service but it's back as one of their services so I'm back with them. There are much more expensive hotels in the area that offer lesser quality. I'm a fan of big hotels for the services they offer rather than small hotels for the intimate service. Strand Palace is definitely in the big category but then that's why you get about five restaurants and bars in the building.

Great location can walk to West End, Trafalgar Square, Buck Palace, Houses of Parliment etc. The rooms were too hot for us and if you want to eat in the hotel its too expensive. However you are close to china town and many other good places to eat like the coal house pub opposite - good pub food. We had a club double room, it was small but clean and the decor was pleasing. If you want a hotel to just sleep in without all the holiday stuff like spa and gym etc this is great. Would stay there again.

Room 772 - The only problem was that the room was so hot, even with the bedroom & bathroom windows open.

The lack of air conditioning in the bedroom when the lower parts of the hotel had air conditioning made for a very stuffy and hot bedroom. This may have been made worse because we were situated on an inner courtyard on floor six.

Perfect location and generally helpful staff, though they once forgot to clean our room. Apart from that, the place is clean and just generally well nice.

We all had single rooms which although quite small were more than adequate for our needs and were very comfortable. The staff were extremely helpful and we had a wonderful weekend exploring Covent Garden.

We have stayed in this hotel before and found it to be excellent. On this occasion though there were issues with one of the rooms - we had booked a twin but although we were given a key, it was not ready when we went up to it. We were then offered a double, which we accepted although it meant I had to share with my daughter. Breakfast was not included in the rate we paid and although it was very nice it was rather expensive at £15 per person! The rooms were clean and there was no noise. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Despite a little "hiccup" with the booking at the start, everything was dealt with courteously and professionally. Most staff were very polite and could not do enough to help with queries.
The service in the restaurant was a little slow and staff in this area were not quite as prompt at addressing concerns. Food was presented well but on this occasion the carvery meat had not been checked for quality and despite being offered replacement time was at a premium.
