Great place to stay

The room and overall facilities were nice. I got the club room option, still not large by American standards, but not bad. Nice neighborhood. Breakfast was excellent but was the same every day. One quirk - they auto shutoff the A/C at midnight and 7 AM. Could usually re-start yourself, but sometimes had to ask. My fridge didn't work. Minor issues. Overall stay was great and location very convenient to Edgware Rd Tube stop.

When I arrived at the hotel I was told that there was no room for me due to problems with the booking system! I was therefore transferred to another of the groups hotels nearby by taxi. This was a more expensive hotel but I did not havre to pay any extra. Good service in the end.
Nice hotel but location not great

We stayed in a club room & I would definately book 1 of these again should I stay in a Shaftesbury hotel. All the write up's on this seem to suggest it has an excellent location but it's a good 15min walk just to Oxford St & it's on the Marble Arch side so if your looking to go into the West End or China Town for example you'll be walking for a good 35mins to get there, if you'd prefer to be close to Hyde Park it's fine but if your planning on walking to other area's be prepared for a good trot! Breakfast was lovely & staff were pleasant & helpful, club rooms are very nice.

The bed was too short for me and I am only 6'2" and the mattress was far too soft that you sink into it...the bathroom was so small you could barely stand up in it, so may the lord help anyone who isn't!

Rooms very small but well equipped, clean and comfortable. Convenient for Edgware Rd, Paddington and Lancaster Gate tube stations.

1. Hotel did not have my reservation, took nearly an hour to get in my room. Was told it was my fault as I shold have had proof of reservation (Apparently the reservation # is not enough!)
2. Paid for a club room, should have been greeted with complementary newspaper, wine, water, soft drinks etc - got none, after asking three times I recieved the wine, water and drinks on the eveing of my second nights stay.
3. A/C auto turned off at 10:00 each night, the porter ad vised m that it was because it broke (at 10 o'clock each night!) However, after I explained what was actually happening (it is set to switch off at 10, he did turn it back on)
4. Room tiny (but well equiped) and the window was broken
5. When I was checking in the receptionist tried to fob off another guest with the old story 'sorry Sir there is a problem with your room so we've checked you into our 5* sister hotel' - this Hotel Group does not have any 5* Hotels, they clearly double book.
6. Breakfast was nice although they water the fresh orange down far too much

We enjoyed the stay the breakfast was very pleasant the staff helpful. Very clean hotel
