Very good located. Staff are helpful. The room is newly renovated but there are works next door so you will be waken up at around 8:30am on weekdays. Quite a small room that I feel like in Japan.
Very pleased

Although the rooms were a little small this did not really impact on a great place to base yourself whilst in London. The staff were helpful, the breakfast enjoyable and the rooms kept clean.
Clean and well kept

Had a basic double room, was very clean but quite small. For London, was reasonable value and very close to Bayswater tube.
Nice room with just enough space and a good price

Nice Hotel Good Location

Hotel was nice although the room was small and the bathroom tiny. However the room was clean and tidy, the staff were helpful and friendly and allowed us to leave our bags on the day of our departure. We also recieved a breakfast in the price of our room after booking a club room, however, the breakfast room was small and offered an ok selection but nothing spectacular. All in all this is a good hotel with a good location very close to Hyde Park and 2 mins away from the underground.

Check in was at 2pm and when we turned up at 2.30pm the room was still unavailable.
We expalined we were in a rush as we had booked a show to watch that started at 4pm, yet was told we would have to wait in the reception for just 5 minutes while our room was cleaned.
At 2.55 we eventually told them we couldnt wait any longer as had to leave otherwise we would be late for the show and wouldnt be allowed in to the theatre.
Shortly after dropping our bags off in the room we asked at recption if they could book us a taxi. After waiting 10 minutes we checked with the reception how much longer the taxi would be to find they hadnt even got round to booking it yet. Eventually we walked off and had to flag one down ourselves.
At Breakfast the next morning without even a "Hello" from the waitress my girlfriend had a piece of paper pushed in her face whilst she was eating. When she asked what it was for the lady simply just pointed and said "sign". It's not much to ask for the staff to greet or just be polite to customers...
Overall, the room and hotel was very nice. It's a shame the customer Service was completely awful.

The breafast was always substantail during our 5 day stay. A good selection of juices , fruit, cereals, breads, coffee, tea, etc; were available, along with the English full on breakfast meal. For the price the size of our room was sufficient. The in room safe was a nice touch if you were bringing along a laptop or other electronic devices. The bathroom was well appointed, however you did have to be careful not to bang your head on the tempered glass shower door when sitting down on the toilet! Close quarters there. The biggest disappointment was a lack of any face cloths! Depending on what a person was looking for I might recommend the hotel, but I would certainly point out the above shortcomings. The Shaftsbury does have an excellant central location for tourists. Only a shot walk to two subway stations very close to buses, and tour buses. As a runner I took full advantage of it's very close proximity to Hyde Park with miles of pathway system.

Had a very good stay. The room was small, but larger than one I had in Paris recently. I don't need much room. Very clean, modern and fresh. I requested a bright/sunlight room on a higher floor and my room was a good match. Very quiet, except for the occasional rumble of the Underground beneath the hotel. Staff were generally helpful and accommodating. Two tube lines within 4 blocks. We liked the neighborhood and proximity to cafes and the park. Great value, especially through London Nights.
