When we arrived they told us that there were problems with our rooms and we had to switch hotels. We were then shuttled to the Park Grand Paddington where we were given small rooms with no space for anything, and tiny bathroom where the shower was the whole bathroom. We ordered a taxi to take us to Piccadilly through the hotel and it cost us £19. We later found out that this service was through the hotel and it was double the price of a regular taxi. We then asked the hotel to order us a regular taxi the next day and they refused. Worst stay ever, it was expensive and did not deliver on the service-stay away from the Kensington Town House and the Park Grand in Paddington.

brilliant deluxe double room at kensington town house hotel

Bibi , Party type: Young couple - Posted: Saturday 24th July 2010

Overall score: Customer Rating 9 / 10

we booked the deluxe double room at kensington town house and the room met most of my expectations. the room space was good and enough for the two of us and our luggage, the bed was comfortable, the air condition was worked very well
the only downside was the noise of the train travelling on the train tracks near the room we stayed in, since our room was located in the basement, therefore the view out the window was not much to look at. the bathroom space was TINY! but we only stayed a night so that didnt bother me too much. besides that, the room itself was georgous, nice plasma screen tv - but not enough channels to look at. overall the room facilities was excellent - which was surprising because having read all the other reviews about this hotel before i booked it, i was worried i wouldnt like it, but after staying a night i would revisit again. my only advice to future customers is, if you are going to stay in a three star hotel make sure you book one of their best rooms, otherwise the standard double and single rooms may be very dissappointing.

The hotel had no record of my booking through london nights.
They had one room available, which was very small, backed on to the tube line and was very noisy

My initial room was very tiny, but, when I returned to London, I was given a room across the street at The Shaftesbury London Kensington, and it was much more spacious. Some of the help float between the two facilities, and they were all most pleasant.

Hotel ok- not great

We were put in the "annexe" of the hotel. The room was ok but VERY small and it was annoying that the main entrance door of the annexe hotel kept banging so loudly! the sheets of the bed were not immaculate either... Good location though. One night is enough.

Small but good hotel in excellent location

The hotel and rooms are small, but this shouldn't put you off. The room was very clean and in an excellent condition - effective air con, a good quality TV and an attractive bathroom. Staff were attentive and the location is excellent.

Why overbook a hotel when you know that you have renovation work going on

Terry Lambert, Party type: Business traveller - Posted: Wednesday 5th May 2010

Overall score: Customer Rating 5.8 / 10

I chose this hotel on value and proximity to the Earls Court exhibition centre. Unfortunately upon arrival I found that they no longer had a room available at this property and was transferred to stay at a sister property near Gloucester Road. The reality of this move meant that my 5 minute walk to the exhibition centre was extended to a tube journey plus a 5 minute walk and the meetings that I should have attended at 1445 were delayed by over an hour.
Although the accommodation at the alternative property was of a good standard this made my busy schedule over the 2 day stay much more difficult to manage and I will therefore not be recommending or using this hotel again.

Very Average at best

The hotel is very well located for access to Central London. The room was tiny, making it awkward for two people to negotiate and very noisy with loud internal hotel noises, plumbing, people moving about etc. The bed was also small with a thin hard pillow.......we did not get much sleep over two nights! Wifi - though advertised, actually means you have to use a cable. We would recommend this hotel only on it's location.

Very very small rooms, If you have booked this I would request a large room, it was even tricky going to the loo as the wash basin was in the way an Im a UK size 14 not that big. On the plus side it was clean and Great location for the tube at Earls Court! Not bad for the price. Recommended if your on a budget!

The room was very clean and tidy. The staff were very helpful. We enjoyed our stay particularly due to our great location. It's just over the road from Earls Court underground and the Natural History Museum is just ten minutes walk away. The rooms were very small (like being in a caravan!) but it is a good hotel for location and a good price per night too.

Thinking about the Town House?

Booker, Party type: Young couple - Posted: Thursday 1st April 2010

Overall score: Customer Rating 6.6 / 10

First time staying at this hotel, Usually stay at a hotel just across the road. The area is great, easy accsess to the tube and bus roots aswell as being walking distance to the high street.
First impressions of the hotel was disapointing after finding two half empty bottles of milk and coca cola left.
Our sheets where changed daily but rubbish was just left to our responsibility

Other then that the staff on reception where polite, helpfull and willing to go out of there way to ensure we enjoyed our stay.
Overall id call the hotel average, the rooms where small and the shower was rubbish but it had its positive side to it aswell i suppose. I think ill be going back over the road next time though.

excellent location in earls court, 5mins walk from tube station, very nice apartment, sadly let down by the lack of service as we discovered a cockroach in the bathroom which was quickly attended to but not mentioned by the duty manager upon check out, or an apology received
