Very disappointing
Booker, Party type: With friends - Posted: Monday 17th May 2010

We booked an executive double room - on the grounds that 'it is larger than a standard room' - if our room was larger, I dread to think what a standard room looks like! Our other friends who also had an executive double had a much larger room with space for a separate table and chairs - completely different to our room, even though we paid the same price.
We were booked as 2 guests in the room, yet only had one towel - I would have gone to reception to ask for another one, but it took so long to check in (even though we were the only ones doing so) that I couldn't face it... the receptionist kept going off to answer the phone in a back office, and at one point even stopped mid transaction to answer another guests query who had appeared from nowhere and didn't seem to think she needed to queue - this was verified by the recpetionsit serving her in the midst of our check in process... unprofessional and extremely rude!
Overall I was pretty disappointed in the level of service at the hotel - yes cheaper than most London hotels, but you expect that for being on the outskirts of the city - I would still expect a high level of customer care (I did not witness one smile from a memebr of staff the whole stay), I also expect the correct facilities to be in my room, and consistency between rooms that are marketed as being the same and same price.
